Suffering I can help with

Which one are you standing in?

A death

The funeral, the paperwork, the 2 a.m. quiet. The Death →

A separation

The breakup, the divorce, the betrayal. The Separation →

A dysfunctional childhood

The family made you the problem. The Dysfunctional Childhood →

The addiction

The drinking, the pills, the phone. Medicine vs. Drugs →

The trauma

The war in your head, living in the body. Peace →

A chaotic daily life

Everything at once, nothing holding. The Daily Rhythm →

Not sure which?

Tap what’s true. The door finds you.

Nobody sees this but you.

Each one is the whole way through, written down. Read it alone, or come live it in the Valley.

The same solutions

Six different pains. The same medicine.

Whatever gate you came in, the research keeps finding the same way out. This is what we work through.

Morning light

The ordinary, non-seasonal kind of depression starts moving after about two weeks of bright light in the morning.

The bright-light trials
Sleep

The most reliable trigger of a breaking mind that research knows is lost sleep. Guard it before you name anything.

The mood-episode research
Movement

218 trials, fourteen thousand people: walking, strength work and yoga, about as effective as antidepressants for depression.

Noetel et al., BMJ, 2024
Real food

One in three people whose depression went into remission when the food changed. Nothing else in their treatment did.

The SMILES trial, Jacka et al., 2017
People

Being cut off from people raises the risk of dying early about as much as smoking. Three hundred thousand people, one number.

Holt-Lunstad et al., 2010
Letting go

Across more than fifty trials, forgiveness work lowers depression and anxiety. It works whether or not the other person deserves it.

Wade et al., meta-analysis, 2014
Something to serve

People who give their time to others live longer and report less depression, across dozens of studies.

Jenkinson et al., systematic review, 2013

No framework to memorize. The daily routine carries all of it. The full science, taken apart: My Philosophy.

My philosophy

There is nothing to add. No new course, framework, medication, philosophy. The work is removing: the filth in the body, the filth in the mind, the distractions. When mind and body integrate with the spirit, we remember who we are in our divine perfection. It is time to come home to our hearts and do what is right, without permission or outside validation. This is the work I do on myself every day. My hope is to share the remembering with you, so we wake up together with the sun in our eyes and joy in our hearts.

The letter

Once a week, by email

What the research is finding, and what the fire already knew. One letter a week, written by me. Leave your email if you want it.
